Lazarus is the brother of Mary and Martha, who lived in Bethany, and a beloved man, a friend of Jesus Christ, spiritually resurrected by Christ.

"Lazarus" is a symbol of every spiritually dead person whom Jesus Christ, by His teaching, spiritually "raises" to true life according to God's Commandments.
