"The scourge" is a symbol of the moral, spiritual Laws of the Divine Will as expressed in the Teachings of Jesus Christ, exposing, exposing man's sinful thoughts and actions.    

 "The "scourge" is the expository Words of Truth of the Holy Scriptures of the Prophets, proclaimed by all the righteous for their awareness by sinners and for their testing of the punishment by the remorse of their conscience.

 "The scourge" is also a symbol of the punishment of the wicked by the tragic consequences of their rejection, the crime of the Laws of true life established by God.
