"Election" is God's revelation to man of His Covenants, the revelation of His Will, His Commandments, and man's realization of the freedom given by God, expressed in man's desire to become the "Son" of God through the knowledge and realization of His Will.

God "chooses" man by revealing His Will to the Patriarchs and Prophets, conveying through them His spiritual "Image" and "Likeness."

God's "Chosen" people are the righteous, encouraged by the true knowledge of God's Will to carry it out.

Negative Meaning.

"Choice" is the preference for a sinful way of life and a person's choice of those various priorities and spiritual values that are contrary to God's Commandments, destroying the human spirit, soul, and body.
