"The Holy Land" is a symbol of all the Righteous, people spiritually regenerated to the true life by the knowledge and fulfillment of God's Covenants, Commandments and so set apart, separated from sin, from delusion, leading a holy, righteous way of life. 
"Earth" is a symbol of the whole material world, created by God for Creation, spiritual creation, becoming in it His highest Creation, Man. 
Negative Meaning:
"Earth" is a symbol of peoples who are in a spiritually "visionless", spiritually impersonal state, who have only a fleshly, sensual-emotional nature of thinking and who live a purely materialistic way of life, who satisfy only earthly, creaturely interests, who fulfill the sinful demands of the flesh.
