"Refraction" is a symbol of in-depth study, reasoning, comprehension of the true spiritual "Bread" of God - the Word of Holy Scripture, the Teachings of the Prophets, Christ, the Apostles.  

"Breaking" is man's application of labor, effort to find and accept the true spiritual "Food" - the Word of God's Will, His Covenants, Commandments to live in righteousness.

 "Communion" is moral and spiritual cleansing from various sins, renewal, saturation of man with the Word of God's Wisdom, acquired from the knowledge and fulfillment of His Will, from the embodiment of His Commandments in one's life.
