Curse

"Cursing" is from the word "wedge," also similar in meaning to the words "rupture," "rejection," "condemnation," "indignation."

"To curse" - to drive out a wedge, to make a rupture, a disconnection of what was firmly joined together. To make unstable, shaky, unstable, to reject, detach from something.     

"Cursing," "anathema," is the opposite of blessing, taking away the blessing, the protection of God's Laws, and condemning to calamity.

"Curse" of the Lord is the exposure, condemnation, "Retribution", "Punishment" of man by God by the consequences of his rejection, violation, perversion by man of God's Laws of true Life, expressed in His Covenants, Commandments, in the sayings of the Prophets, in the Teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles.

"Curses" are the consequences of violating the Divine Laws of true Life, God's Will, His Commandments, by which man alienates himself from union with God, from the protection of His Laws, His Promises, as well as from the gracious life and Eternal Life.
