"Woe" is a symbol of the consequences that befall a person who rejects, violates, or perverts God's Will, His Commandments.

 "Woe" is a painful state of mind, soul, and body of man, who experiences the punishment of the consequences of the iniquities committed, of evil.

  "Grief" is also the trial of man's sense of belated remorse for his life of wickedness, his awareness of the loss of lost time and the irretrievable loss of Eternal Life.
