"Elisha" is translated "God will save" or "God is salvation.

Elisha was one of the disciples of the prophet Elijah, a man of God's special gifts, who knew the Will of God, God's Laws, through his conscience and mind undamaged by sin, who realized God's Commandments and, guided by them, became a prophet to the people of Israel, announcing to them God's Covenants, warning people against committing sins.
