Magi

"Magi" - from Greek and Hebrew. - sages, exploring the heavens.

"Magi" are Oriental sages, scribes, men of science, philosophers, religious leaders and spokesmen for the culture of the Oriental peoples, exploring "Heaven", i.e., studying the spiritual Laws of the Divine world order, the regularities of the appearance and development of spiritual culture of different peoples, and comprehending the Holy Scriptures of the Israelite Prophets.

Negative Meaning.  

 "Magi" represent the "Magi of Egypt", i.e. representatives of the diverse materialistic, practical knowledge of the sinful world and its, so-called "spiritual" culture, containing various religions, philosophies, astrology, esoteric and other sciences, which contradict the Will of God.
