"Leprosy" is a symbol of the contagious spiritual "Disease" of man, clearly manifested in his vicious, extremely sinful way of life, in his rejection, violation, perversion of God's Will, His Commandments, which leads him to experience God's "Punishment" by the consequences of the evil done.

A "leper" is a person whose worldview and way of life are plagued by the consequences of his rejection, violation of God's Commandments, wrong, false perception of the meaning of life, fanatical service to sin.
