"Pilate" symbolizes sinful secular, cruel lawless political power, its representatives, who are in sinful cooperation with false religion, with its pharisaical representatives, for their own benefit go along with them, please the people in their sinful desires, suppress true religious freedom, oppress and persecute the righteous. 

"Pilate" symbolizes the power of man in a sinful society, which is represented by laws, patterns, traditions, which are based on a variety of political, religious, psychological, ideological, economic, physical violence against man and expressed in various destructive ideologies, dogmas, which the nations serve and obey.
