"The Furnace" is a symbol of man's tormented condition, his unbearable hardships of living in sin, his experience of the consequences of rejections, violations, perversions of God's Will.

"Furnace" is a characteristic of the state of a community of people living outside the principles of God's Will, not following His Commandments, within which burns the "Fire" of violence, wars, debauchery, enmity, evil.

"Furnace" is also a characterization of the inner state of wicked man, burning, inflamed with hatred, treachery, burning with evil, tormented by his own vices.
