Scribe

"Scribe" is Greek "grammateis," a writer. Hebrew "seopherim," that is, "to write," "to put in order," "to count."      

"Scribe" is a person who knows the Scriptures, who does the Will of God, a teacher and interpreter of God's Law.

"Scribe" is also a learned man, a sage, possessing various practical and theoretical knowledge, sciences, often relying only on his mind, his knowledge.

Negative meaning.

"Scribe" is a person who honors God only by reason, but not by deeds, who knows well the "Letter" of the Holy Scriptures of the Prophets, Apostles, the literal text of the Bible, but has no true knowledge of its Spirit, its spiritual meaning and effective, true life according to the Will of God, according to the Teachings of Jesus Christ.
