"Joseph" ("of Arimathea, a city of Judah") is a symbol of people of the Gentile world who are "rich" in the wisdom of the world, and are also rich in the wisdom of knowing the Scriptures of the Israelite prophets.

 "Joseph" is also a symbol of people who have realized that the Teachings of Jesus Christ are perfect Truth and therefore learn from Jesus Christ while remaining representative of the "Gentile" world.
